On 20th May 2016, Can Tho University of Technology (CTUT) conducted a farewell meeting to Ms. Brenna Erin McKee, English Teaching Assistant (ETA) of Fulbright Program in Vietnam, after 09-month working at the university in academic year 2015 - 2016. Participating the farewell meeting are representatives from the Rectorate Board, International Relations office, Foreign Language Center and Student Association.
In his farewell speech, Dr. Duong Thai Cong, Rector of CTUT, highly appreciated the ETA’s contribution to the improvement of CTUT students’ English speaking – listening skill over the past 09 months; at the same time, she also helped the lecturers and students at the university understand more about American culture and education through 13 seminars. On behalf of CTUT, the Rector would like to send sincere gratitude to US Embassy in Ha Noi and Fulbright Program in Vietnam, who had chosen the University as host institution in academic year 2015 – 2016 as well as facilitated the ETA to fulfill her work at the University.
In response to the remarks of the meeting participants, Ms. McKee would like to thank the CTUT’s staff for their caring and enthusiastic support during the time she worked here, express her interest in teaching assistant work and her attachment to the students and teachers after her working time. The ETA hoped that the communication with English-native speakers and understanding of American culture would motivate the students to study English language and meet the requirements of foreign language standardization for graduation./.
